Lambton EMS opening temporary station in Sarnia
Sarnia, ON – Lambton County Council approved the lease of a commercial property at 805 Upper Canada Drive in Sarnia to serve as a temporary station to support Lambton Emergency Medical Services’ (EMS) operations at its meeting on May 7, 2025.
The temporary facility will allow for the expansion of service until construction on a new EMS Headquarters at the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park can be completed.

Lambton County recognizes Paramedic Services WeekPetrolia, ON - The week of May 21st marks Paramedic Services Week in Canada and the County of Lambton is joining in recognizing the essential work done by paramedics every day for our community.
This year’s theme is “Diversity in Paramedicine – The Patient, The Provider, The Profession,” and is meant to provoke conversations about how diversity in our community is reflected in the broader health care system and the ways paramedics support those they serve.

Lambton Public Health Participating in Provincial Vaccine Booking System PilotPoint Edward, ON – Lambton Public Health (LPH) is happy to report that it is one of six Ontario Public Health Units participating in a pilot of a new online Provincial Immunization Booking System.
Starting today, LPH is inviting all members of the County’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to test components of the new online system by booking their vaccination appointments.

The outreach is intended to protect local temporary foreign workers from COVID-19 risk through support, risk mitigation and surveillance testing.

Lambton EMS and local fire departments piloting new fire-rehab partnershipPetrolia, ON - The County of Lambton's Emergency Medical Services Department (Lambton EMS) and local fire services are trialing a new Firefighter Rehab Program.
The partnership, currently in the pilot stage, sees Lambton EMS paramedics provide a dedicated, on-scene rehab area at working fires.

Community Paramedic Program records 1,000 home visitsPetrolia, ON - The innovative Lambton Community Paramedic Pilot Program has completed its 1,000th home visit since the program launched in August 2017.
Preliminary results indicate the program has resulted in significant reductions to local Emergency Department (ED) visits as well as a decrease in 9-1-1 calls.
