Celebrate Ontario Public Library Week 2026 with Lambton County Library

Wyoming, ON – From October 18 to 24, 2026, Lambton County Library will join public libraries across Ontario in celebrating Ontario Public Library Week. This annual event recognizes libraries as essential community spaces that support learning, connection, and well-being.

“Ontario Public Library Week is an opportunity to highlight the diverse services Lambton County Library offers to residents and celebrate the work of public library systems,” said Emily Bisson, Community Engagement / Communications Supervisor, Cultural Services. “From books to telescopes, we are proud to offer a wide range of materials, programs, and services for the diverse interests and needs of our community.

Ontario Public Library Week Highlights

• Kick-Off Event at Lambton Mall (Bath & Body Works Promo Court): Saturday, October 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Attendees can enjoy a photo booth, complimentary specialty cookies (while supplies last), live 3D-printing and button-making demonstrations, video gaming stations, and other activities celebrating the work of public libraries.
  
  
• Testimonials: Throughout the week, patrons are invited to share what they love about their library. Testimonial hearts will be available at all Lambton County Library locations.
  
  
• Watford Library Open House: Thursday, October 22, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony to recognize the investments by the County of Lambton and the Township of Warwick following the recent renovation project at Watford Library.

Free Library Memberships
Membership is free for anyone who lives, works, studies, or owns property in Lambton County, as well as anyone who lives on a First Nations reserve in Ontario. To apply, visit any Lambton County Library location and bring proof of identity and address.
