Local Child Care and Early Years Career Fair returns this spring

Sarnia, ON – A wide range of local child care providers will gather on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Sarnia Branch 62 for the Child Care and Early Years Career Fair. The event will provide a dedicated space for job seekers to learn about careers, meet hiring teams, and explore available roles in the sector.

Participating child care providers will be recruiting for both full-time and part-time positions. Available roles include Early Childhood Educators (ECEs), Educator Assistants, Support Staff, Cooks, and various Supervisory positions.

"Across our child care and early years programs, we are seeing a growing need for passionate, skilled professionals to support children and families in our communities,” said Andrew Canham, Vice President of Children's Educational Service, YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. “This career fair is an important opportunity for job seekers to connect directly with employers, learn about the wide range of roles available—from educators and support staff to leadership positions—and discover how a career in child care can be both meaningful and rewarding".

The event is open to all members of the public and job seekers, and no pre-registration is required.

The Lambton Works Centre team will also be onsite, providing employment readiness support to job seekers. Job seekers who are unable to attend the event, but would like to learn more about available career opportunities in child care or how Lambton Works can support them are encouraged to call Lambton Works at 519-344-2062 extension 2019 or email lambtonworks@county-lambton.on.ca.
