Public consultation sessions being held for updates to County Housing and Homelessness Plan

Sarnia, ON - The County of Lambton’s Social Services Division is continuing to collect public input for updates to the County’s 10 year Housing and Homelessness Plan. The Plan will support local decision‑making and set clear goals that help address housing and homelessness needs in our community.

The next step of the update process includes public consultation events to collect additional community input on experiences and opinions on housing and homelessness across the County.

Two sessions will be held in the coming weeks:

  • In-person session: Pat Stapleton Arena (134 Brock St S, Sarnia)
    Wednesday, February 25 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Virtual session: Microsoft Teams
    Wednesday, March 4 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Interested individuals are asked to sign up for the session they would like to attend at lambtononline.ca/hhplan.

“It is important to note that these sessions are separate and cover different materials than the recent consultation sessions held for the potential future development of the former St. Bartholomew’s Church property in the City of Sarnia,” said Melissa Fitzpatrick, General Manager, Social Services. “These upcoming sessions seek public feedback and perspectives from citizens regarding housing and homelessness throughout the entire County to make sure our Housing and Homelessness Plan updates are reflective of current needs overall.”

The public consultation sessions are being hosted by OrgCode Consulting Inc., who are assisting the County in updating the Housing and Homelessness Plan.

The updated plan will be shared with County Council in late spring 2026.
