County celebrates completion of Maxwell Park Place housing units
Local government officials and County of Lambton Social Services staff celebrated the completion of 24 new housing units at Maxwell Park Place with a ribbon cutting ceremony and building tour on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026.
The new units are part of the County’s ongoing efforts to address the growing need for affordable and supportive housing. Built as an extension to the existing building, the project includes six units managed by March of Dimes Canada to support individuals living with disabilities. The remaining units will be offered to existing affordable housing tenants, helping create movement within the housing system. Public Alerting
When emergencies happen, Lambton County residents may be reached through several channels with urgent public safety instructions from municipal or other government officials.
Sarnia-Lambton Alerts is a local, subscriber-based notification system, through which local municipalities can issue drinking water, evacuation, shelter-in-place, and other urgent public safety messages. There is no cost to subscribe, and users can select how they wish to be notified (e.g., text message, app, phone call, etc.).
Alert Ready is Canada’s national emergency alerting system and allows federal and provincial agencies to send potentially life-saving alerts, for various hazards, directly to Canadians through television, radio and LTE-connected and compatible wireless devices.
During emergencies, be sure to follow your local municipality online through their official websites and/or social media channels. In addition, tune to local radio stations for emergency information updates.
