Creative County Grant Program accepting applications
Lambton's Creative County Grant Program is now accepting funding applications for arts, culture and heritage initiatives occurring in Lambton County in 2026.
The Creative County Grant Program invests in new and innovative projects that build cultural capacity, strengthen the creative community, and enrich the quality of life of all residents. Organizers of new or expanding initiatives are encouraged to apply online for funding to cover up to 50 percent of project costs.
Applications for the Creative County Grant Program are accepted online only at lambtononline.ca/creativecounty until Monday, November 17, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. The County of Lambton has allocated a budget of $75,000 in available funding for the 2026 program year.

2025 Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal Recipients
As part of the Canadian Honours Programme, the Governor General makes available Exemplary Service Medals for EMS professionals. The award recognizes those professionals who have performed their duties in an exemplary manner, characterized by the highest standards of good conduct, industry and efficiency. To qualify, at least ten of these years of service must have been street level duty involving potential risk to the individual.
Of the 180 medal recipients across Ontario in 2025, Lambton EMS is proud to be represented by six paramedics in this honoured group. Each of these members have our deep respect and thanks for their service.
On September 25, 2025, the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs hosted this year’s Gala at RBC Place in London, where the Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Services Medals were presented to paramedics from across the province on behalf of the Governor-General of Canada, Her Excellency the Right Honorable Mary Simon.
Lambton EMS paramedics receiving their Exemplary Service Medal this year are:
- Lynn McCreary
- Jay Loosley
- Jennifer Woodiwiss
In addition to the recipients of the Exemplary Service Medal, three paramedics will receive their 30 year bar recognizing an additional 10 years of service after receiving their original medals. These bars will be presented at a separate ceremony at the Canadian Forces College in Toronto on November 19, 2025.

- William Blake Smith

Official Plan Review underway – provide your feedback!
We are reviewing the County’s Official Plan pursuant to Section 26 of the Planning Act.
This Official Plan Review provides the opportunity for the County to:
- align with updated legislation, including changes to the Planning Act;
- bring the OP into conformity with the 2024 Provincial Planning Statement, which came into effect on October 20, 2024;
- update population, housing needs, and employment projections;
- assess land supply; and
- assess whether the OP reflects community goals, priorities, and needs.
NPG Planning Solutions is working with the County to oversee the review process.
As a first step, we are looking for your comments on the Draft Projections and Land Needs Assessment. These documents can be found on our website lambtononline.ca/OPReview, along with instructions on how to submit feedback. The deadline to submit comments is December 12, 2025.

- Book with your local pharmacy or health care provider.
- Children’s appointments are available through Lambton Public Health by calling 519-383-8331.
In addition to getting your vaccine, include these layers of protection to stay safe and healthy this cold and flu season:
- Stay at home when you are sick
- Practice good hand hygiene
- Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
- Consider wearing a mask
