    Council Highlights - November 29, 2023

    Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, November 29, Lambton County Council:

    • Recognized donors who have made generous contributions to County programs, services, and facilities over the past year, including Noelle's Gift to Children, Bluewater Power Distribution Corporation, The Lodge Auxiliary, The Villa Auxiliary, The Manor Auxiliary, Ron Van Horne and Scott Ferguson, Don and Anne McGugan, and The Famous 5 Sarnia Lambton Speaker Series.     Council Highlights - November 1, 2023

    Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, November 1, Lambton County Council:

    • Acknowledged students attending Council as a part of Take Our Kids to Work Day. These students joined hosts within the County to learn about the working world and the many ways municipal staff provide services to the residents of Lambton County.

    Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, October 4, Lambton County Council:

    • Heard a presentation from Steven Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of BT Engineering Inc., regarding intersection improvements at County Road 4 (Petrolia Line) and County Road 31 (Kimball Road).

    Council Highlights - September 6, 2023

    Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, September 6, Lambton County Council:

    • Heard presentations from:
      • Jacob Hanlon, Food Cycle Science, regarding Food Cycle Science's Municipal Food Waste Diversion program.
      • Nathan Colquhoun, Storyboard Solutions, regarding decentralized affordable housing solutions and how Council can support these types of initiatives.

    Council Highlights - July 5, 2023

    Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, July 5, Lambton County Council:

    • Heard a presentation from Michael John Kooy, John de Groot, and Heather Martin, from the Rotary Club of Sarnia, and Brian Mundt, Wellington Ridge, Sarnia, regarding supportive and affordable housing and specific measures Council could adopt to bring permanent new housing to our community.
    • Endorsed affordable housing and shelter as the number one priority of Lambton County.

    Council Highlights - June 7, 2023

    Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, June 7, Lambton County Council:

    • Heard presentations from:
      • Kate Burns Gallagher, Executive Director, Western Ontario Wardens' Caucus (WOWC) regarding the 2023 WOWC priorities.
      • Marilyn Gifford regarding the abundance of medical graduates seeking residency programs and the need to create more residency programs.

    Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, May 3, Lambton County Council:

    • Heard a presentation from Debb Pitel, Founder of No One Stands Alone, regarding funding to continue providing a resource booklet listing local mental health agencies for those that need help and don't know where to turn.
    • Asked Public Health Services Division and Social Services Division staff to work with presenter, Debb Pitel, Founder of No One Stands Alone, to determine opportunities to engage in the work that is.

    Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, April 5, Lambton County Council:

    • Heard presentations from:
      • Brian Eves, President, Lambton Federation of Agriculture, Crispin Colvin, Vice President, Ontario Federation of Agriculture, and Karen McLean, Member Services Representative, Federation of Agriculture, regarding potential Official Plan changes that would allow removal of agricultural lands from food production purposes in Lambton County.

    Council Approves 2023 County Budget

    Wyoming, ON - Lambton County Council has approved a net levy rate increase of 4.02% to the County property tax levy, finalizing the County's 2023 Budget at the Council meeting this morning.

    Wyoming, ON - Lambton County Council will be considering a net increase of 3.9% to the County property tax levy when it meets to discuss the County's 2023 budget at the Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
