Lambton County’s Museums, Gallery and Archives Reopening SoonWyoming, ON – With the recent easing of restrictions as Sarnia-Lambton advances to Step 3 in Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen, Lambton Heritage Museum, Lambton County Archives, and the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery will be reopening to the public on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.
The reopening follows public health guidance and sector-specific guidelines developed by the province.

Oil Museum of Canada receives program funding from Canadian Association of Petroleum ProducersOil Springs, ON – The Oil Museum of Canada, National Historic Site recently received sponsorship from the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) for a programming initiative.
Traveling Trunk education kits have been an offering of the museum since 2019.

Lambton County Museums, Gallery and Archives Expanding OutreachWyoming, ON – Extended closures resulting from provincial orders and public health restrictions have kept Lambton County’s Museums, Gallery and Archives closed to the public in 2021. However, through the innovative use of new, virtual program offerings, staff are continuing to keep visitors engaged while also reaching new audiences across North America.

Oil Springs, ON – Grade 12 Design and Technology students from Northern Collegiate Institute & Vocational School have concluded their recent quadmester by completing scaled designs of interactive displays for the Oil Museum of Canada, National Historic Site.
Over a three week period, the students worked to plan and prepare.

The museum is currently closed to the public and undergoing a significant renovation.

Lambton Cultural Services Getting Ready to Reopen SafelyWyoming, ON - Lambton County is preparing for limited public access and additional services at its libraries, museums, gallery and archives starting in September.
Since closing in March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, cultural services staff have been working behind the scenes to offer online access to library collections, enhance online digital engagement, and adapt service to offer contactless curbside pickup.
