New Housing and Homelessness Hub offering day programsSarnia, ON – The Homelessness Prevention team is working closely with community partners to open a low-barrier, multidisciplinary, and multiagency Housing and Homelessness Hub to provide day programs for individuals experiencing homelessness.
The Hub opened its doors at the former Laurel-Lea St.
Integrated Homelessness Prevention Team accepts OMSSA awardSarnia, ON – The County’s Integrated Homelessness Prevention Team accepted a Local Municipal Champion Award from the Ontario Municipal Social Services Association (OMSSA) at the 2023 Exchange Conference held in Ottawa last week.
These awards recognize exceptional work done in advancing excellence in human services integration and service system management by teams from Consolidated Municipal Service Managers and District Social Services Administration Boards across the province.

Stronger Together summit prompts community collaborationSarnia, ON - On Tuesday, March 21, community partners from across Lambton County gathered at Lambton College to discuss the current state of housing, homelessness, and addictions locally, and collaborate on how to make a lasting change in these areas.
The Stronger Together: Collaborating for a Vibrant Community summit brought together over 170 individuals from a variety of organizations related to housing, homelessness, and addictions.
Out of the Cold emergency shelter opening in SarniaSarnia, ON - The County of Lambton, in partnership with the Inn of the Good Shepherd, will be opening an Out of the Cold emergency shelter program this weekend at the former Laurel Lea-St Matthews’s Church in the City of Sarnia.
The program will be managed by the Inn of the Good Shepherd, with the County’s Social Services Division providing funding and support services, including intensive case management, rapid re-housing, and financial assistance for housing.
