Local Immigration Partnership working with UWO to conduct research on discrimination
Sarnia, ON - The Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership (SL-LIP) is collaborating with the University of Western Ontario and other LIP’s in Southwestern Ontario to conduct research on discrimination experiences of immigrants and racialized people in the region.
Immigrants and racialized persons who have experienced discrimination in the workplace, in a public space, or by a local authority in the last three years are invited to participate in a virtual interview with researchers at Western.

Emergency Child Care Program for School-Aged Children of Frontline WorkersSarnia, ON - On Monday, January 3, the Premier of Ontario announced that, in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all schools in the province will revert to remote learning effective Wednesday, January 5, 2022, for a period of at least two weeks.
To support health care and frontline workers, the Ministry of Education has implemented a targeted emergency child care program for school-aged children only (ages 4 -12 years), at no cost to eligible parents, until schools reopen for in-person.

Supporting the licensed child care sector and assisting families is vitally important for economic recovery, particularly at this time as many families continue to face increased pressures and financial burdens resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Homelessness Enumeration Project UnderwaySarnia, ON - Building upon an earlier iteration in 2018, the County of Lambton will be conducting an enumeration of the local homeless population the week of June 21 – 25, 2021.
The County of Lambton Homelessness Prevention team will lead the Homelessness Enumeration project this week with support from staff within the Social Services Division, the Sarnia Lambton Native Friendship Center, the Inn of the Good Shepherd and the North Lambton Community Health Centre.

Beginning May 26, 2021, Lambton County residents will begin seeing #AllAreWelcomeHere lawn signs across the county.
