Emergency Control Group Update - March 24, 2021
Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday, March 24 to discuss updates to the current COVID-19 situation.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update on current operations at COVID-19 vaccination clinic sites in Lambton County.
16-Week Interval for Second Dose COVID-19 AppointmentsPoint Edward, ON – Following the recommendations from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI), the Ontario Government recently extended the interval time between first and second doses of three COVID-19 vaccines to 16 weeks (Modern, Pfizer & AstraZeneca).
Residents now scheduling their first and second dose vaccine appointments through the Provincial Booking System are already scheduled with this interval adjusted for 16 weeks.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events - March 2021Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton and its partner Clean Harbors Canada Inc. will be holding the next Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
Lambton COVID-19 Immunization Task Force Update – March 23Point Edward, ON – The Lambton COVID-19 Immunization Task Force met Tuesday, March 23 to discuss updates to the COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan in Lambton County. Here are some highlights from the meeting:
To date, a total of 16,454 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Lambton County (14,910 first doses, 1,544 second doses).

Lambton Meadowview Villa Receives Funding for Dementia ProjectWyoming, ON - As part of a major long-term care investment announced today, the Province of Ontario is providing funding for 10 new spaces at Lambton Meadowview Villa in Petrolia.
This funding will be allocated to the development of an addition at the Villa and the creation of ten new rooms and living space in a small-house dementia care model.
