  • County's credit rating affirmed at 'AA-/Stable'

    Wyoming, ON - S&P Global has again affirmed its 'AA-/Stable' credit rating for the County of Lambton.

    In its 2018 review, S&P Global noted the County's 2017 budgetary performance was better than anticipated, with stronger operating margins and after-capital surpluses.

  • Council Highlights - October 3, 2018

    Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting Wednesday, October 3, 2018, Lambton County Council:

    • Approved the naming of property donated to the County of Lambton by the Lucio and Marilyn Sandrin family of Lambton Shores as "Sandrin Woods" and directed the property to be incorporated as part of the Lambton County Heritage Forest.
    • Directed staff to form a steering committee with key local decision makers to identify local priorities and draft recommendations for action to address alcohol and drug use in.
  • Creative County Grant Program to open 2019 intake

    Wyoming, ON - Beginning Monday, October 1, Lambton's Creative County Grant Program will be receiving funding applications for cultural, heritage, and arts initiatives occurring in Lambton County in 2019.

    Organizers of new or expanding initiatives are encouraged to apply for funding to cover up to 50 per cent of their project's cost.

  • International Walk to School Day - October 3, 2018

    Sarnia, ON - When it comes to personal health and school success, ParticipACTION® says "Canadian kids are sitting too much and moving too little to reach their full potential."

    Authors of the recent ParticipACTION® report - 'Canadian kids need to move more to boost their brain health' - found that adding more physical activity to kids’ routines "could be the missing part of the equation in support of their success in the classroom, on the field and with their friends.

  • First human case of West Nile Virus 2018

    Point Edward, ON - A Lambton County resident has tested positive for the West Nile virus (WNV).

    This is the first lab confirmed human case of the virus in Lambton in 2018.

  • County opening 13 electric vehicle charging stations for public use

    Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton is opening 13 publicly-available electric vehicle charging stations across the community.

    The stations operate on the FLO network and were installed, in part, through funding totalling nearly $104,000 from Ontario's Ministry of Transportation.

  • Mosquitos and ticks still active

    Point Edward, ON - Even though summer is winding down, Lambton Public Health reminds Lambton County residents that mosquitoes and ticks are still active and precautions are needed to protect against the risk of West Nile virus (WNV) and Lyme disease.

    "Mosquitoes will continue breeding until we see frost and cold temperatures, and tick activity will only slow down once we see consistent cold temperatures below freezing," says Lori Lucas, Health Protection Supervisor at Lambton Public Health.
