Lambton Public Health’s surveillance program has confirmed mosquitoes collected on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, from a trap located in Petrolia, have tested positive for West Nile virus.
This is the first instance of mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile virus in Lambton County this year. No positive human cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed to date in the County.
