Salmonellosis Outbreak Investigation Closed LocallyPoint Edward, ON - Lambton Public Health (LPH) has completed the local investigation into an outbreak of Salmonellosis linked to individuals who ate at the Barakat Restaurant in Sarnia and the Barakat food truck in Corunna between October 19th to 29th, 2020.
As part of the investigation, multiple follow-up inspections have been conducted at this food premise and LPH is satisfied that there is no ongoing source of Salmonella infection related to this outbreak.

Food-Borne Illness Outbreak Investigation StatusPoint Edward, ON - Lambton Public Health (LPH) continues to investigate an outbreak of salmonellosis in people who ate at the Barakat restaurant in Sarnia and the Barakat Food Truck in Corunna between October 19th and 29th, 2020.
At the time of this release, LPH has received 33 laboratory confirmed cases related to this outbreak.

Public Health Investigating Outbreak of Food-Borne IllnessSarnia, ON - Lambton Public Health (LPH) is currently investigating an outbreak of Salmonella infection in people who recently ate at the Barakat restaurant in Sarnia.
At the time of this release, LPH has received laboratory confirmation of four cases related to this outbreak.

Noelle’s Gift Champions the Student Nutrition ProgramPoint Edward, ON - Noelle's Gift Foundation donated $14,000 to the Ontario Student Nutrition Program-Lambton (OSNP-Lambton) to support the food costs of 38 schools that feed more than 7,400 Lambton students every day.
"Noelle's Gift has been a constant champion for healthy food in schools," said Leslie Palimaka, Health Promotion Assistant at Lambton Public Health.

Public Health Advisory - Overdoses ReportedPoint Edward, ON - Due to recent reports of an increase in overdoses, Lambton Public Health urgently reminds those who use street drugs - in particular opioids - and their caregivers:
- NEVER use drugs alone
- Always carry Naloxone
Free Naloxone kits are available from Lambton Public Health, local pharmacies and several partner agencies including Community Health Centres.
In the event of an overdose, always call 911 even when Naloxone is used.
