Beach water quality monitoring begins for 2024Point Edward, ON - Lambton Public Health will begin the 2024 beach water quality monitoring program on Monday, June 17 at public beaches scheduled for monitoring across Lambton County.
Predictive beach-water sampling and water sample analysis will be used to determine if beaches are safe to access.

First Heat Warning of 2024 issued for Lambton CountyPoint Edward, ON - With the prediction of hot and humid weather expected for today, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Heat Warning for Lambton County.
Heat warnings are issued when two or more consecutive days of daytime maximum temperatures are expected to reach 31°C or warmer and nighttime minimum temperatures are expected to sit at 20°C or warmer or when two or more consecutive days of humidex values are expected to reach 40°C or higher.

The Special Weather Statement is issued when there are episodes of high heat early in the warm season for significant portions of the province, but do not meet the heat warning criteria and is expected to remain in effect until Wednesday, May 22.
