Residents reminded to take precautions against mosquitoes following case of EEEV in local horsePoint Edward, ON – Lambton Public Health is reminding residents to take appropriate precautions to protect themselves from mosquito bites following the confirmation of a case of eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEEV) in a local horse by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Agribusiness on Friday, September 20.
EEEV is not a reportable disease in Ontario and no mosquito traps have tested positive for it in Lambton County.

LPH issues reminder to take caution during heat eventPoint Edward, ON - Following Environment and Climate Change Canada’s issuance of a Heat Warning for Lambton County on Sunday, July 14, expected to continue into Tuesday, July 16, Lambton Public Health is reminding residents to take caution to protect their health.
Heat warnings are issued when two or more consecutive days of daytime maximum temperatures are expected to reach 31°C or warmer and nighttime minimum temperatures are expected to sit at 20°C or warmer or when two or more consecutive.
