Lambton COVID-19 Immunization Task Force Update – April 20, 2021Point Edward, ON – The Lambton COVID-19 Immunization Task Force met Tuesday, April 20 to discuss updates to the COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan in Lambton County. Here are some highlights from the meeting:
A total of 40,103 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to date.

Oil Springs, ON – Grade 12 Design and Technology students from Northern Collegiate Institute & Vocational School have concluded their recent quadmester by completing scaled designs of interactive displays for the Oil Museum of Canada, National Historic Site.
Over a three week period, the students worked to plan and prepare.

Lakeshore Road to be Closed for ReconstructionWyoming, ON - Lakeshore Road (County Road #7) between Modeland Road and Telfer Road in the City of Sarnia is scheduled for full closure beginning Wednesday, April 21, 2021 (weather permitting). The work is expected to last approximately four months, weather permitting.

Emergency Child Care Program for School-Aged Children of Frontline Workers (1)Sarnia, ON - On Monday April 12, the Premier of Ontario announced that, in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all schools in the province will revert to Remote Learning following the April break. At this time, there is no indication of how long schools will remain closed to in-person learning.

Delayed Vaccine Shipment Leads to Clinic PostponementsPoint Edward, ON – Due to a delay in the delivery of 4,000 doses of Moderna vaccine, Lambton Public Health (LPH) is regrettably postponing two immunizations clinics this week.
“We were expecting to receive a substantial allocation of Moderna vaccine early this week, but the delivery has been delayed,” said Kevin Churchill, Manager of Family Health.

Reminder re: COVID-19 Vaccine Second Dose AppointmentsPoint Edward, ON – Based on a decision by the Provincial Government in March, COVID-19 vaccination intervals have been extended from four weeks to 16 weeks for three vaccines (Moderna, Pfizer & AstraZeneca).
“This means if your second dose appointment was scheduled four weeks after your first dose (or if you did not receive an additional appointment), your second dose booking needs to be re-scheduled,” said Kevin Churchill, Manager of Family Health.

Lambton Public Health Urging Residents Who Used Blu Light Taxi to Get TestedPoint Edward, ON – After learning that four local taxi drivers have tested positive for COVID-19, Lambton Public Health (LPH) is putting out a call to members of the public asking anyone who used the service to get tested for COVID-19.
“If you travelled with Blu Light Taxi from March 21 to April 8, 2021 and your trip was greater than 15 minutes please get tested at a public assessment centre as soon as possible,” said Lori Lucas, Supervisor of Health Protection.
